Violinist Jingzhi Zhang has performed in prestigious venues across Europe and Asia as a soloist and chamber musician. Most recently, she is second prize and audience prize winner of Premio Paganini 2023.

Since 2014 she studied with Pavel Berman at Conservatory of Switzerland Italian in Lugano, where she was enrolled in the Master of Arts in Music Performance. She has collaborated as a soloist with orchestras including the OSI Symphony Orchestra of Switzerland, Carlo Felice Orchestra of Genova, National Symphony Orchestra of China, Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Moscow, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan and the Virtuosi Italiani etc.

She is founding member of Quartetto Goldberg, since September 2024 she and her quartet are both Artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.

Jingzhi was born in China (Chongqing) and began studying the violin with her parents at age of four. Three years later she made her debut as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Beijing and in 2010 she became the overall winner of the the Andrea Postacchini International Competition. Jingzhi is currently performing on a Carlo Testore violin, kindly loaned by the ProCanal Foundation of Milan.

Giacomo Lucato is an Italian soloist and chamber musician, second violin of Quartetto Goldberg and violist of Trio Ravel. Among the recongnitions obtained playing with these ensembles, stands out the First Prize at the Città di Stresa 2022 competition, Special Prize of the Jury at “Marcello Pontillo” music competition, the Overall First Prize at Conservatory of Milano Award 2021. 

He made his debut as viola soloist with orchestra at the Sala Verdi of Conservatory of Milano in 2021, accompanied by the Student Symphony Orchestra. In 2022, he joined the UNIMI orchestra again as viola soloist, performing for the first time with Trio Ravel “Le désir du désir sans fin - Capriccio for flute, viola and harp soloists and orchestra” by Vincenzo Parisi and the Stamitz concerto at the Aula Magna of the University of Milano.

Giacomo graduated in violin at the Music Conservatory of Torino, under the guidance of Piergiorgio Rosso. Then, he worked with Ilya Grubert and Eliot Lawson at Santa Cecilia Foundation in Portogruaro and with Adrian Pinzaru at the Pinerolo Music Academy. In 2022 he graduated in viola with top marks at the Music conservatory of Milano, in the class of Pietro Mianiti. He plays a Dante Regazzoni violin, kindly loaned by the Regazzoni Collection, a Lorenzo Rossi viola from 2009 and bows on loan from Lucchi Bows Cremona.

Matilde Simionato is an Italian violist and chamber musician, founding member of Quartetto Goldberg. She represents Italy at the International Students Festival in Kyoto 2019 and in 2021 she won a scholarship to attend Bruno Giuranna’s viola course at Accademia Chigiana in Siena. In the same year she became his student at Accademia Stauffer in Cremona. She has collaborated with renowned musicians including Steven Isserlis, Viktoria Mullova, Salvatore Accardo, Franco Petracchi, Gilles Apap and has taken part at masterclasses with Ettore Causa, Isabel Villanueva, Sarah McElravy, Miguel da Silva.

She regularly collaborates with Italian orchestras such as Camerata Ducale, Orchestra Canova, Accademia del Teatro alla Scala and world-famous conductors like Daniele Gatti, Gianandrea Noseda, Fabio Luisi, Ottavio Dantone, Giovanni Antonini, Daniele Rustioni.

She began studying the violin at the age of four with Claudio Andriani following the Suzuki method. Student at Conservatory of music “G. Verdi” in Milan, she obtained an Academic Diploma in violin with Maestro Mauro Loguercio and in 2021 she graduated in viola with honors under the guidance of Claudio Pavolini. She plays a viola by Antonio Pivetta, loan from a private collection.


Martino Simionato is an Italian cellist, and founding member of Quartetto Goldberg. As a chamber musician, he is regularly invited by prestigious Festivals and Music Societies like Mito settembre musica, Gioventù Musicale Italiana, Fondazione La Toscanini, Viotti Festival, LacMus Festival, Teatro Coccia, Associazione Musicale Appassionata, Fondazione i Teatri, Amici della musica di Monza etc. He collaborated with Teatro Verdi Orchestra in Trieste, Orchestra del Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Accademia alla Scala Orchestra, Lafil filarmonica di milano, Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi and Orchestra Canova.

He was born in Milano and received his first cello lessons following the Suzuki method at age of four. Already at an early age he was awarded in several competitions and scholarships. In 2017 Martino became a member of the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, with which he played in important venues like Maggio Musicale in Florence, Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and Festival dei due mondi di Spoleto. He graduated at Milano and Novara Conservatories of Music for Bachelor and Master degrees with highest grade. He has worked with Kyril Zlotnikov, Marco Scano and Luca Magariello. He plays a cello by Dante Regazzoni, on loan from the Regazzoni Collection.
